Veteran attorneys Darryl O. Solberg, Jerold H. Goldberg, David W. Bagley II, Michael (Mickey) J. Maher, and Richard A. Schulman, all partners at HechtSolberg, were named San Diego Super Lawyers for 2016 in their respective practice areas. Only 5 percent of total lawyers in the state are selected for inclusion in Super Lawyers.
David J. Vogel was named a 2016 Rising Star, a designation achieved by only 2.5 percent of attorneys 40 and under or with 10 or fewer years’ experience. Vogel practices in the areas of real estate, general business and finance transactions, representing a broad range of clients including lenders, borrowers, developers, commercial real estate investors and non-profit organizations.
Solberg’s practice concentrates on both general business and real estate transactions including: business planning and entity structuring and formation, operation and termination of corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies, real property purchases and sales, contracts, representation of closely held businesses and publicly traded companies involved in all aspects of real estate and representation of numerous non-profit organizations.
Goldberg has been practicing for 41 years with a concentration on litigation and risk management matters, with emphasis in construction, real estate finance, purchase and sale, commercial lease, real estate brokerage and insurance issues. Goldberg has been involved in complex trial and appellate litigation, and has also argued successfully before the California Supreme Court.
Bagley, who has been on the Super Lawyers list for 10 years, is involved with real estate, finance and general business transactions. Bagley represents both borrowers and secured lenders in the area of real estate finance and advises clients in the areas of commercial leasing, real property acquisition and development, real estate joint ventures, residential development and sales, and corporate and business matters.
Maher, managing partner of the firm, is a real estate and business lawyer who concentrates on advising clients in developing, leasing and investing in shopping centers, office properties and industrial parks; apartment acquisitions and dispositions; acquiring subdivided land for home builders; drafting and negotiating reciprocal easement agreements and covenants, conditions and restrictions for all types of commercial developments; complex title-related issues; real estate finance; structuring and implementing business entities and ventures; and representing franchisees in franchise arrangements.
Schulman focuses on government regulation, primarily land use, along with appellate litigation. Schulman assists clients with all aspects of the development process including: entitlements and governmental approvals for subdivisions and other projects; environmental analyses; community facilities districts and other regulatory finance (special taxes, assessments and fees); and litigation arising from land use matters with particular emphasis on the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
